It’s the the Vans Warped Tour weekend and Justin is excited to start the festivities. He has been looking forward to this since he was a teenager and now that he’s 31 he can finally attend. Justin grew up in the screamo sub-culture, from the hair style, clothes to , MySpace it was more than just a phase. Having strict parents didn’t allow him to see his favorite bands as a teenager but now that he’s apart of the working class he goes to concerts freely. Warped Tour has been on his bucket list for years and now that it’s here, Justin is stoked to attend.

Warped Tour was hosted in Washington DC at the RFK Stadium. The Stadium is getting demolished but the Warped Tour is hosted on the parking lot of the stadium. The DC sun shines on the asphalt warming the venue, the humidity lingers over the crowd watching the bands. The smell of the DC’s Water Treatment plant surrounds the area but is masked by the sweat and odors of concert goers. DC traffic was lengthened due to the nicer weather and celebration of 250th at the White House, but this did not stop Justin from enjoying himself.

Justin completed day 1 of Warped Tour, his main takeaway was that his body is not the same as it was during his teen years. His back and knees hurt from the constant standing, the mixture of alcohol and heat ten-folded his dehydration. Although these negatives were minor compared to what he will remember forever. The sounds of classics being sung, the frontman interaction with the crowd to the embracing it all with his friends made the first day worth it. Justin woke up Sunday morning with a cocktail of pain reliever ready to tackle Sunday’s lineup.
