It’s Friday night, you clock out of your shift and head home. You ring your boy and ask him what’s the plan tonight. He shouts “UNDERWORLD!!!” from the other end. You get excited and hit the pedal to rush home. You remember the first time hearing about the electronic duo Underworld from the movie Trainspotting, This would be your first time seeing them live and you are really excited.
It’s 1015 and you just get checked by the bouncer. Your other 3 friends are already inside getting drinks at the bar. Once you pay, you make your way through the crowd for a drink. The music is loud, the crowd is dancing and people are talking near the bar. You start your journey to the dance floor, the 3 drinks you chug start to rush through your body (it didn’t help that you forgot to eat prior). It’s 1130 and Underworld just took the stage.
The night is coming to an end after hours of dancing, you are tired and drenched in sweat. Underworld thanks the crowd and start their final song. You hear the echoing synths and immediately feel your body rejuvenate. The lights flicker and you look over to see your friends all enjoying life. At that moment you understood the monologue from Trainspotting. You choose life, you choose your friends, you choose it all for a moment like this. You continued to dance and embrace the moment, creating an ever lasting memory.
